Application Guidelines
You may apply to the workshop by submitting an 8-10 page writing sample or a visual portfolio of original work to adam@piroguecollective.org.
- Acceptance is based on the strength and promise of the writing sample and the admission board’s judgment that the applicant will benefit from the workshop.
- The admissions board is comprised of both current faculty and the editorial staff of piroguecollective.org.
- Our workshops are designed to accommodate both published writers and artists and those in the early stages of promising careers.
- We are not able to enroll anyone for less than the full 10 days of the conference.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- There is no application fee. The deadline for applications is August 15, 2010.
All applicants should submit a manuscript of unpublished poetry prose or visual art in progress for consideration by our admissions board following these guidelines:
- Submit up to 6,000 words of fiction or non-fiction
- Submit up to 10 pages of poetry
- Submit up to 5 individual visual pieces
- Applicants should send their strongest unpublished work
- The applicant's name and a page number must appear on each sheet of written manuscripts
- Prose manuscripts must be double-spaced with 12 pt. font and margins of at least 1.25"
- Manuscripts excerpted from a longer project should include a one-page synopsis
- Poetry manuscripts should have 12 pt. font. Please do not include more than one poem to a page
